Nahh.. this is abstract art in the basement common area of our apt building.

The manhole cover is more perfectly circular than it is presented in this shot where I twisted the camera during a 1/3s exposure. What bored photographers do, eh...

I like shots like this, and especially the explanation so I can give it a try.

I couldn't find a specific thread dedicated to lens and camera tricks. I'll just have to remember it

Another neat trick with slower shutter speeds is to zoom during the exposure. You can see some of my efforts here. Unpredictable, but a lot of fun!

Go ahead, make a thread. I'm sure there are enough ideas out there to make it interesting.

Yes, I think most such techniques have somewhat unpredictable results. Or rather, there are so many variables involved that it takes a lot of practice to get them reasonably under control.

Just back from a trip to Yellowknife. They have circles up there, too! I'll be drawing on the shots I took there for some time. First, a visit to the Territorial Legislature.

The caucus room.

The soapstone sculpture in the centre of the caucus room. The white hemishere suspended above it is part of the room's accoustic design.

An example of tradtional bark container with porcupine quill work decoration, on display in the foyer.
