We are so dry I doubt there are any growing right now - but maybe it will rain again one day.
Hope the rains come soon, before things become really difficult.

All these years I called it Canada thistle, but now thanks to the Internet I have seen the error of my ways. At least our Cirsium arvense are too big for macro photography. This monster was growing on city property, so no herbicides allowed. Back where I come from, if a farmer let his crop of thistles grow freely he would be served a notice by the county to control his noxious weeds and have to pay a fine to boot.

For now, from Barra, from the archive. I doubt I could find anything worth showing here this year anymore.

Lots of Scots here in Ohio, and for that matter all of the US. We've got thistles too!
