Here's a couple iPhone 5 shots taken in Granbury TX. Taken October 2015 when we traveled down there to meet Rupert & his wife for lunch. I think this place appears more run-down than it actually is

What's this?

You boys have been holding out on me!

Well I have a bunch of old places well past their prime.

The sod house my mother and her parents, brothers and sisters lived in. They moved in around 1941.

A family lived there before them. The man of the house went out to the barn during a snowstorm to check on the animals and ensure they were OK. By the time he got back to the house the snow had piled up fairly high. As he was digging his way to the door he had a heart attack and died.

Some time after my mom's family moved into town a guy was living there. He had gone into town one night and had been drinking at the bar. He got drunk, and had a fight with another barfly. The dude followed him back home to the soddy, and waited until he was asleep, then went in a shot him dead.

Funny how over time different things happen in the places we live.

When we were there a year and a half back mom said this old place could be fixed up and used as a home again.

The one room school house my mom attended when her family lived in the sod house. It has been moved from the original location to where it is today, and is used as a machine shed.
