Thanks, pbancr.
Tasmania is littered with convict era relics - some better preserved than this.

More of Tasmania.
The penitentiary was originally built as a granary and mill (1843).
Was converted to penitentiary in 1857 - (more convicts to house and insufficient grain harvested to warrant such a large building).

I think many of the posters here are thinking the same way.
This is a pano of two of the shots I donated, taken in 2012. The liquor store (LCBO = Liquor Control Board of Ontario) was built while I lived here, was demolished and is now part of a parking lot while a proposed development project goes through an appeal process (maybe 15-30 storeys). The brick building was a bank (the underground vault was a big demolition job) and, together with a plaza that was also built while I lived here is now part of the site of a 9-storey condominium (freehold apartments), just being completed. The chimney in the background was part of a school that is being redeveloped to include condos as well. This level of redevelopment is happening along almost a kilometre of road between two subway stations, and further north as well. It's probably time I did another set of overlapping photos of the frontages to keep up with the rate of change.

This is one of the last "Original" cottages on Plum Island, MA. The only reason it has survived this long is that it is on the lee side of the island, sheltering it from the brunt of the Northeasters that roll up the coast. Brings back memories as I spent much of my youth on the island.

Very nice. Too bad the construction site fences stand in the way

Yep, nice image.
The UK has a plethora of ruins of abbeys and monasteries mostly due to Henry VIII's willful destruction.
This one suffered at the hands of others.

Trip Advisor Got It Different To This

Not staying here... it's not finished and I'm not too sure about the extensive garden/grounds...

Yes. They wouldn't let me move them and it would be too much work to photoshop them out of the shot .

Apparently an old post office in Ennistymon Ireland or at least a building painted to appear to be one.
