A glory is an atmospheric effect similar to a rainbow or sun dog. A Glory containing the viewers shadow is called a Brocken Spectre, or a Mountain Spectre. I shot this Glory from a high ridge at Kicking Horse ski resort at Golden BC, with my shadow at its centre:

Unintentional shadow selfie taken while shooting my VW Baja Bug and Kawasaki in 1987 or so. Scan from a print. For some reason I look like Darth Vader.
