Just stumbled onto this thread! Not even sure what this is, so I'm hoping it's not off-topic here! Anyone know?

Railroad bridge.
Thanks Racer. Railroad tracks are nearby, so there may be plans for this bridge. They recently opened the new TexRail Express which runs right through town.

That is an old bridge, built in the days when steel was riveted and then painted silver (a color typical of railroad structures). I can see ties but no rails.

It looks to me like it was removed and set aside, to be disposed of later.

Of course - that makes much more sense They completely rebuilt the old rail depot on Main St, and this may have been used there at one time.

It looks like the terminus of an old light rail or trolley system. They always extend the line well beyond the last platform to give the train room to "overshoot" if necessary. Since there's a parking garage in the picture, I'd guess that the line was probably one of those electric trolley lines that used to go down the middle of the street in some cities. Where is it, by the way?

Racer replied that it's an old railroad bridge. It's in Grapevine TX - this was located in a near a soccer field. The rail tracks aren't too far away. They've been working on a new commuter rail system that runs between DFW Airport and Ft. Worth - now completed. This might be a remnant of the old line.
