Postprocessing Challenge #272 - Cyclists

Let's see what you can make of this picture I took with the Pentax-M 200mm F4. There is quite a lot of glare due to backlight from the sun.

I will be closing the challenge a week from now.

Great shot for the challenge! Overcooked this one (hard to not to) so might go at it again later in the week and try to do fewer more focused manipulations to achieve the desired effect.

First try. No way to duplicate what I did, as I was just doing stuff until it looked better.

I gave it a more autumnal background and then convert to B&W.

After a first selection I have cut it down to glenn5995, todd and AJC. Tuggie76 also gave me a good laugh adding hills. Where I live everything is super flat so it looked quite disconcerting to suddenly see a bunch of hills rise up.

Now the choice between glenn's plate edit, todd's and AJC's coloured one. I decided I liked Todd's better than AjC's because of detail retention and the way the yellow sigh stands out against the more desaturated background. So that made it between todd an glenn, which is a really hard choice. Both pics give the image a certain classic and aged look, both I like. Carson was pushing me So I tossed a dime and it came heads up for glenn who is the winner of this contest. Congratulations @glenn9559 !.
