Beautiful, Tony. It's a calla, not really a lily, (nitpick, sorry, amigo), but the image is terrific! Holiday greetings to you!

Hello Julie. Many thanks for your comment and of course, the information. If it is not a Lily, then what type of flower is it?

Muchas Gracias, young lady.

You're welcome. It's a Calla. Now a common name for Callas is "Calla Lily" but in fact they are unrelated to lilies. Callas are aroids, related to philiodendrons, anthuriums, arums and that family of plants. I love them, they are gorgeous! The actual flowers are the teeeny bumps on the yellow spadix, the while (or colored) part is a modified leaf, very much like the structure of an anthurium.

A guess: some sort of begonia, from the foliage. later, I take it back, maybe a clematis (thanks to Mike for a better guess than mine)

The other is a lovely hybrid phalaenopsis orchid.

Very nicely captured, Tony!

You're welcome, credit where it's due, always!

And the best of everything in the new year to you and yours as well. No worries, we went out for dinner early (it's R's borthday) so we could be home before the mayhem starts. Here, the local Latino population celebrates by making as much loud noise as possible, the louder the better, so not only wussy firecrackers but cherry bombs, M80s, and guns . I pray for rain every new year's, it rarely happens.
