Year End Review: Your Favorite Photos of 2018

The last several years there has been a thread with the best or favorite images from the previous year, for the various photographers here on the Forums to contribute to. Arbitrarily, I put the number at ten, but I’m fine with folks contributing fewer or more images as they feel so led.

This is not a contest, but just a way of sharing your favorite images from 2018 with the rest of the Forum. My images are mostly landscapes since that is what I shoot (along with photos of my children).

I guess with that preamble, I will begin.

A Sliver of Moon (DFA 15-30/pixel shift)

Full Moon and Trees (DFA *70-200)

Country Road (DFA 24-70mm)

Mabry Mill (DFA 24-70mm)

Lower Burnside Bridge (DFA 24-70mm)

Light on the Road (DA 15 limited/K-01)

Sunset (DFA 24-70mm/pixel shift)

Tree in the Snow (DFA 15-30)

New Orleans at Sunset (DFA 24-70mm)

Sunflowers at Sunset (DFA 15-30mm)

Anyone interested in the last couple of years of best of photos, here are the links: Year in Review: Share Your 12 Favorites of 2017 - PentaxForums.com and Favorite Images From 2016 - PentaxForums.com

I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone's contributions from the last year.

I spent most of time doing macro because of record heat around here. I posted my 55-300 PLM shots under lens of the year so I will leave those out.

I did take other photos too.

I didn't get out enough this year, plan to rectify it for the next. But some neat stuff.

Wonderful images so far! I'll have to see if I can scrape up a few good ones, too.

I did this one per month last year, but they're much more grouped this year so I won't do that - problem now is too many favourites - so, here's the first tranche...

Wonderful images and we get to see what forum members like to shoot. As a bonus to me it helped me cull my Flickr heard below 1000. Still have 67 to go, it's getting tough.

2018 was not such a great year for my photography. I didn't get to travel so much for various reasons therefore not so many opportunities for landscapes which I enjoy. Instead I've been photographing more people but I'm not so happy with those either. Let's see what 2019 will bring. Happy New Year everybody!!

Wow!

Some amazing shots so far. It doesn't seem like that long ago I was wading through this for last year's thread on the same subject.

I love this. I see names and I look forward to scrolling through. Thanks for letting me get a glimpse of your life through a lens.

Rondec: I like Country road. Somehow I get the impression that is much of your life, and I've learned from you to stop and capture the beauty that I run across.
Abulafia: The pig shot reminds me of one of the Masters. The light and ambiance. Look forward to seeing more.
swanlefitte: The last one is very nice.
ffking: The fourth sunset is lovely. You frame it like the end of a very good day.
Haffinatt: That first landscape reminds me of all the shots you have shown here. I want to be there, I want to see what you see. Thanks.
northcoastgreg: Your wildlife shots are amazing. The otter especially. Your snow in the desert shots are lovely.

It's inspiring to see some truly amazing photographs. I look forward to many more people sharing their best images.

It was one year ago that I bought my first digital camera, a K70. While my photo excursions have been few I'm learning a lot and having fun. Here are a few images that I'm proud of.

I inadvertently toggled the multiple exposure mode. A happy accident!

Another double exposure, this time on purpose and then having a bit of post processing fun.
