Post Processing Challenge #287 Tenuta Montalbano

For this week's post processing challenge, I chose one of the first pictures I took with the 55-300mm PLM. I'm very satisfied with this lens and would recommend it to everyone who owns a compatible APS-C camera.

I'll close the challenge next Wednesday 2/27.

I changed the colors a bit to make the foliage more green and the sky more blue. I really like this scene!

Here's a crop version. I wanted the sky clearing to anchor one corner and include the sign and foreground path along with the building in the center.

Lovely spot, & well captured.

I wanted to keep the edits subtle, to maintain a natural feel.

Here's my interpretation, a little ray of sunshine on the old homestead.

Thanks!

The vineyard is near my house and I can photograph it from my loggia. The hill is classified as agricultural zone and construction isn't allowed, but sadly this isn't true for the area beneath the street.

At the time, framing was a pita because of a tower crane and my neighbour's tree

The crane is now gone and my neighbour cut the protruding branches, but the white house on the right still disturbs the view.

Thanks for playing along this week.

I had a hard time picking a winner and changed my mind multiple times, but finally choose Glenn5995. It was a close call between him and Todd.

I really like the golden tone of Glenn's elaboration, reflecting well the light present at the moment the picture was taken (shortly after sunrise).

On the other hand I'm particularly fond of the velvia look. It reminds me so much of the postcards that were sold here in the 80's and works really well on this image.

Seeing Glenn's image for the first time, I thought "this is the winner", but the more I looked at Todd's elaboration, the more I liked it. In the end it was a toss-up and I went with my first instinct.

So congrats Glenn, looking forward to your next challenge!

PS: Just for fun, I also edited the picture. It's not what I usually would do to an image with such luscious colours, but I had fun doing it.
