Something different; this is a hand-held multi-exposure. Tried to keep things as steady as I could, but snapped off 15 exposures creating quite a distinct look. The b&w conversion looks like the "High-key Fine Art" preset from Silver Efex. I rarely keep the frame, so I guess it means I used the preset without alterations of any kind.

Yet another "long exposure with camera movement" image, this one defocused (as much as was possibly with f/16 on a 18mm lens...) and with a circular motion. I was aiming for "colours only". The subject is a flowering nasturtium.

Ricoh GR, 1s exposure.

This one is a series of shots taken on a Pentax Q with 01 prime lens, printed out to 6"X4" and put together and rephotographed on my K3, to form a "Hockney" style picture

I used to get some really good effects on colour print and slide film back in the day, by breathing on he lens. Unfortunately I do not have any scans to share, and I have yet to take a satisfactory pic using this technique on digital. Has anyone out there tried this with any success?

I've never tried that - not intentionally, anyway But it's worth a try. And it set off some more ideas. Maybe just the thing to give me some motivation again, thanks

Oh, and since this is a thread for stupid tricks, how about over-exposing? Not exactly a trick, at least not in this example since it happened by accident... But it should fulfil the stupidity part just fine Probably 4-5 stops over...

The classic old 4 second exposure - hold steady for three seconds then move slowly for one ( the brightness on the surface was just too much on this one, and makes the lower half of the padlock semi-transparent )

And, of course, zoom during exposure:

Does anyone knnow of a light-painting / light trails thematic, btw? Might save a little searching, though I'm happy to do that of course - or to start one for that matter

Not that I've noticed, but I haven't looked. It was the asking of a question like that about unusual techniques that spurred me to launch this thread.

Another long exposure thingy. This one says it's a 26s exposure, but I think that's just the longest of several exposures - it's with my phone's "night shot" mode, so too much wizardry happening to know anything for sure

Anyway, roughly a 30s exposure, then, where I light-painted the foreground for a few seconds, then moved quickly into the frame and stood still for about 10 seconds to create a ghostly figure (inspired by @graeme83 and his "dark" theme in the Daily in October challenge last year).

Ah, I remember that one well, a great photo.

I am always trying weird things out with the camera so I will be following this thread with interest.

A recent one involving deliberate movement both in camera and the subject with very little effort in maintaining correct focus, the weird colours come from this being a full spectrum modified camera.

Another with a square shaped aperture placed over the front of the lens and shot out of focus.

That's one of the things I have on my list to try. Interesting how some of them are at an angle.

Forgot that bit, its 3 exposures and I rotated the aperture and changed the shutter speed in each.

I'm not sure if this counts as it wasn't exactly deliberate - more a case of planting the tripod on marshy ground, but I kind of like the result
