It's probably modern coatings. I do like the DA 35mm for documentary work.

I've got the Tak 35/3.5 which I quite like and the 40 XS. I just sold the DA 50 1.8 for similar reasons. I'll have a look at the limited.
same here with the DA50/1.8 - did not care for the lens' character, either...

I've ditched DA50 also. Just no match for my M50's in rendering.

Nothing yesterday, back hurting too much to get off the bed. I have arthritis in my back and when it starts hurting there is no sense in me trying to get a photo that day.

On to today, I'm going down to my sister's house and hope to get some different shots there. She lives in the country with different views. Hopefully, my back will hold up for something good.

Funny thing yesterday: of four photos I took (ok, there were more than four shutter openings, but ending images...), three were essentially re-runs. Maybe that speaks to my life patterns xP but I guess I could take it in a couple of ways. I could see it as a lack of awareness of other things to photograph; that I’m stuck in the same mode, seeing the same things. I could see it as something that could be made a useful exercise, in finding a new way to present something I’ve photographed before.

I don’t mean just a trolley, or a pole, or whatever, but (specifically yesterday) that actual graffiti on that actual pole - shot in much the same way.

So... I could open my eyes to other subjects; I could work on opening my eyes to new ways to shoot old subjects.

I found it interesting anyway.

I'm a bit like Raf. I have a shot or two for the 4th, but I can't muster the enthusiasm to even look at them because same same. I'll try to push through, but don't surprised if I bail.

I'm already out from the "Daily In" challenge.

@Tsuken Don't you dare neither of you bail on me!

In a related story, I have some shots for today, but I'm sick as a dog and I need some couch time, so I'll edit/post/comment tomorrow.

Maybe mundane subjects call for reimagined processing?

I have given myself permission to make mundane shots because I think of my photography hobby as more of a diary than an art. I started photography after I realized journaling was a little too isolating. A photograph is unique to the moment it was created and as expressive as your artistic mind crafts it to be. But it's also easy to share, and other people can relate their own feelings to it, too. I've never seen a therapist, but I feel like photography is there for me in a similar capacity. :-)

Yes! Creative cropping also helps.

Nah, not ditching. Don’t worry there. I just found it interesting.

I hadn’t thought of processing as a way to change up the same subject; that’s an interesting approach that I think I’ll try. Cheers 8)

Mundane shots don’t stop me continuing my daily photography; at this point (not far off nine years) I’ve made more than a few very mundane images.

I didn't get to sister's house today, two sisters went shopping. enough said? They didn't get back home til after 3pm, which meant I would have had to go there, talk for a few hours, take some photos and then drive home after dark. I do not drive in the dark, my eyes don't see well in the dark. So another day without a photo.

I thought that was pretty much the idea of SIC. Most of my shots is documenting the season, what I'm doing or the stuff I brake or buy. Then there are always some shots just to test lens or technique and occasionally something artistic if I get lucky with light and inspiration. But majority of the subjects are pretty mundane.
After the first few months I realized that I just can't keep on creating new innovative stuff everyday month after month. I'm not that artistic. So documenting everyday life it shall be.

Just made customs declaration and paid VAT for Takumar 200 f3.5. It came quickly from Japan as it was already 3.4. in customs. This last leg just seems to take time as they send info by mail and, at least last time, it took few days before paggage moved onward from the customs. Anyway, I should be able to post lens porn someday next week.

I don't try to create/innovate every day.... for me, that's impossible.... so I shoot what I see, what I love, what is happening around me...

sometimes, it is mundane.... sometimes, it is art....

I catch myself in ruts, especially if I've had a long week at work, or if it's January and the grey seems to be unrelenting...

since September 2015, I have not missed a day of the SIC (please excuse the month I was out of touch due to my father's passing), but have ground out the long days, sometimes with a lens that seems ungrateful for the attention

I consider myself lucky that I have found the SIC, not only as a lens evaluation tool, but also for the idea that I should shoot each and every day (even if it just the one shot for the SIC) and commit to it...

it's become therapy for me - to find the solace every day in the activity of composing, visualizing, capturing....

Tomorrow I'll be attending a funeral for a highly esteemed colleague, who also happens to be my cousin (and married to another cousin of mine). It will be a tough day, but if I'm brave enough I'll smuggle in the GRiii and get some street-ish people shots....
