Guess what THAT is!

I reckon many will be too young to recognize this bit of engineered aluminum...

My uncle Ron, still has one.

Is it OK to put stuff in here if even I don't know what it is?

Tis for plucking wireless signals from the air to be sent to your living room or den for your viewing pleasure.

And you don't even have to give up your credit card, email address, and all your personal information in exchange for all the streaming goodness this aerial miracle provides.

I have the 21st century version of this, it's about the size of a dinner plate, and pulls in all sorts of signals, even though it's mounted on the interior way of the ground floor.

We had one still beside our house when I first came home 10 years ago until the metal pole holding it broke in half. We didn't use it but it and the pole, made an excellent lightning rod.

I have one in my attic as do several of my neighbors. It works great for over-the-air broadcast and FM radio.

Only 12? I get about 45, though at least half are in Spanish and/or non-stop religious content.

Sure, that makes the mystery even more fun! In fact, I'd say throw stuff in ESPECIALLY if you don't know what it is.

Everything makes me feel old. Taking my dog for a walk makes me feel old. I'm not sure things that make me feel old can be avoided. I just missed a call on my cell phone from the travelling wife. It took me five minutes to figure out how to call her back.
