PP Challenge #299

Welcome to Post Processing Challenge #299!
I will let this run for a week so you have until the 14th June to submit your entries.

For my image I have selected this holiday snap from a weekend break in Genoa, its an interesting mix of classic architecture and rampant industrialisation with this image focussing on the latter, looking out on shipyards in the harbour.
Taken with the fantastic little Ricoh GRII.
No rules do whatever you want as many times as you want.

Wherever that is Graeme. I'm not adding it to my bucket list. Not with Tim around

Not quite what I had in mind

A little more tweaking, and I like this better.

Good entries so far. I will close it this evening (UK) so a few more hours yet if anyone else wants to get one in. Surprised no one has done a black and white take yet, its how I originally shot it as the GR practically lives in black and white mode.

My first try was black & white but I wasn't able get enough contrast in the right places to make it work. In more capable hands, however....

Thanks for all the entries, great work by everybody.

atupdate,
Love it, made me laugh. He fits in well in the harbour there and the flame is a nice touch.

noelcmn,
You have ramped up the warmth of the light and I like that you have kept the overall contrast high and the foreground dark. Its a nice place really, if you don't mind the odd Godzilla attack!

tuggie76,
Like Noel you have warmed it up and I like what that does to the scene, the lifted shadows gives the image a nice bright feel and the crop you have chosen is pretty much what I settled on as well.

photocles,
This screams Mediterranean for me, bright and colourful and by keeping the blues dominant the colours of the buildings and cranes have come through well. The tighter crop also works well.

Sir Nameless,
Again you have gone for a bright and cool colour scheme and I think you have balanced the foreground and sky well, your second image is my preference as well.

So now the winner, its tight between tuggie76 and photocles, I like both your takes but thinking back to how it looked in person I think the warmer feel of tuggie76's edit wins out with a very close second to photocles.

So congratulations to tuggie76 for winning #299 and over to you for the big 300!

Well played tuggie76, well played.

Thanks for hosting, Graeme. It was a great photo to play with. (Also a potential advertisement for a GR.)
