I've said from time to time (by way of explanation to friends and family about why I like to take pictures), that my purpose is to be able to show other people what I'm seeing. They're too busy, too distracted, too worried, and too hide-bound (or "functionally fixed") to be able to really
look at things. They're missing the wonder and joy of being alive by their intentionally-stunted awareness.
This picture is an example of the kind of thing I'm talking about. Who has time to notice that the bottom of a vase could be so beautiful?
