Thanks... I also like the Bright setting more than the Natural, which I used for years because I kept reading here that it was the one you want. Bright and Portrait have been extensively used when doing casual photography. Now I created some other settings that I'm enjoying but you're right, nothing wrong with the Bright setting as an all-arounder!
you bet! I have not tried 'portrait' often enough or the others maybe I should give 'portrait' a whirl...or really all of them since I haven't 'experimented' in quite sometime

Mono Monday

Only the bordering and watermark is additional (and the crop), the image was taken Jpg and seen zero editing. First time doing a SOOC with bordering & watermarking, amazing how 'less SOOCy' it can appear...

That's a lovely photo, Bruce. How did you get the vignetted lighting effect?

The vignette was caused purely by the lenshood on the HD DA 20-40 on the K-1 as I took the shot in the 'not supposed to' Full Frame mode. Additional vignette may have come from my specific monochrome set up, but none was applied in camera directly (from the RAW Development feature for example).

Just stumbled upon this thread, great idea. Here's one from a few years ago, sooc, taken with a K-5iis + M 35-70/2.8-3.5. For a low cost lens, I think it's a hidden gem in the Pentax line-up of retro lenses.
