Thanks Pam. The 77 is a magic wand. Point it at something really nice and the pixies do especially great work.

The styling in the older cars is amazing. I guess it would be hard to make color matching steering wheels and dashboards when they have to be padded and have blow out panels for air bags. And back then, the bodies were significantly changed nearly every year or two. Several years ago (80s) my Dad responded to someone who said "they don't make them like they used to" with, "that's a good thing, we used to have to carry extra belts, gaskets, and tools because the car was going to break down". He was born in 1920 and retired from Ford Motor Company.

I agree that it is very beautiful Tom. I'm told it's a 1958 Ford Customline. The ownership experience might have been less attractive. My dad (born in 1921) shared your dad's unsentimental view about old cars. To that he added a lifelong prejudice against Fords, based on his one-time ownership of an A-model!

All it takes is a bad experience with a product. But cars are funny, many people have strong feeling against or for brands they have never owned. I had a prejudice about a brand and ended up buying one because it was what we needed at the time and what we could afford. After owning it the prejudice was justified. But in reality, there are not any vehicles that you can not have a good or bad experience with. All are pretty reliable, some just give you more bang for the buck, whether that be in maintenance cost, tech, speed, luxury, economy, towing power, size, etc, on and on.
