I've been around since 2017, but just found these threads... would've love doing 2018, as it was also a good year - lots of night shots and long expusure/city/nights would've made my contribution.

Thanks for starting and sharing these threads!

Yes, but think a different crop from the same shoot. (Update: Checked, it is the same shot.)

Thanks again to Vincent for starting this thread and to all the posters who have shared their fine work. I found it interesting looking back over previous years as well - these "best of" threads together make a wonderful archive. I agree with Noel's word - inspirational. I have also appreciated the insight into people's lives - thank you all for opening up to this community.

I didn't get to travel this year so all these are within a few hours of home (in country Victoria, Australia). I got a new KP in January and it has become my workhorse, even though I still have the K-3 and K-S2. Also got a lot from the new-to-me red-ring DA 15 Ltd.

1. A serendipitous moment. Walking on the beach with K-S2 + DA 18-135 when the storm rolled in. Didn't have my tripod so I used the longest exposure I thought I could manage handheld, 1/4th second. After a few shot, bingo! Didn't get zapped either.

2. My first attempt at PS, with the KP + DA 18-135. This and the previous were my only ever explores on Flickr.

3. KP + DA 55-300 PLM. Not technically perfect, but it tells a story.

4. A vindication of the KP's SR. 0.8 secs handheld. KP + DA 20-40 Ltd.

5. K-S2 and mind-controlling DA 15 Ltd.

6. KP + DA 15 Ltd.

7, Sunrise over Corner Inlet and Wilson's Prom with the KP + FA 43 Ltd.

8. Rainbow Lorikeets with the KP + DA 55-300 PLM. Good resolution and nice bokeh for a consumer zoom

9. Merino lambs. K-3 + FA*300 f4.5.

10. KP + DA 55-300 PLM.

My thanks to all of you for continuing to make PF such an enjoyable and informative place. Happy shooting in 2020.

My favorite end of the year thread As fun as it is to take a look back, it is also very difficult to choose the shots to include. I liked the 12 shots theme used at some years, so aimed to that. These are not necessary the best shots, but tried to choose shots that reprecent different styles and topics I shoot.

What lens did you use shooting the aces. I like the angle of view very much.

Talking to me??? I hope you mean aces...

I used M28/3.5 with some extension tubes and K1ii set on tripod, so I could use cards with one hand and reflector with the other.

Well I really only have 3 shots that really stand out in my mind as being my favorites and best. I am a bit late but someone suggested that the big lens people post some here so why not. Although I do go wide too, really wide.

This is probably my favorite. The Great Orion Nebula and Running Man.
123 twenty second shots (astrotracer was used) stacked
K-3, SMC A* 400mm f/2.8 ED [IF], ISO 1600, f/3.5, 20 seconds each

Up next would have to be my second favorite one of the illuminated oak tree off of I35 just south of Faribault MN.
K-3, SMC A 50 f/1.2, ISO 100, I think they were 4 second exposures, f/5.6. It is a stitched panorama and the full size image is just over 24,000 pixels wide

Finally there is the giant mushroom that was 5 inches across. I just like it
K-3, Sigma 300mm f/4 APO Macro, f/8 1/8s ISO 100
