There's a PEF file on the Mediafire site, Lightroom will change it to a dng.

The light pole and car on the left side of the frame bugged me, along with the sliver of sidewalk at the bottom, so got rid of those. Also thought the red sign to the right of the barrel and the bolt against the white fence background on the left was a little distracting. A little tweaking of sharpness, contrast, and saturation and slightly lightening the darkest parts of the sky. All done in jpeg.

A bit of drama added (over the top, I know) - I replaced part of the sky, got rid of the lamp post, the car and the sign, made the wall look less bright/white, added some greenery, and played with the colours. I may have another go at it later this week.

And a different attempt:

Thanks everyone for all your submissions. It was not easy to make a decision, but here it goes:

@noelcmn: The second photo is nice looking but it would be better without the car.

@Apet-Sure: You successfully removed the distracting elements from the photo and fixed contrast, colors, sharpness. It is a good looking result.

@ismaelg: I like how it looks, it definitely looks like it would fit in an early 20th century newspaper.

@lidy: Your first attempt is good. The second one is very different to what I had in mind, and quite an improvement. I also like the framing.

@mariwalt: Nice work on the colors however, I would prefer to have a bit more grass.

@tuggie76: This is also a nice idea. The result is very clean looking and the noise reduction is very good.

So my vote goes to lidy's second version. Congratulations lidy and thank you everyone.
