The wood pile. Well, part of it anyway.

I know this is not the critique section, but may I offer my perspective anyway?

It's rare that a wood pile is captured with such balance and grace. The subtle variation of earth tones presents a pleasing canvas, while the textures suggest a delicate harmony. The juxtaposition of the natural log and the man-made lumber creates just the right level of tension, which is countered nicely by the soft dappling of sunlight. The image would not be complete without the chicken wire, so you've demonstrated a superb eye for composition.

(just kidding, of course. I was thinking of what one of our camera club judges might say)

I made a stick to enforce self-distancing!

These are branches from my maple tree. Heavy snows sometimes break them off, and I can't waste useful wood, so I hang onto them for a while until they dry, then peel the bark off with a drawknife. Eventually I make walking sticks or tool handles from them. It seemed like a good time to work on them.

I have a chain saw on a ten foot pole, that should keep people at a distance. But it's too much work so I'll just stay in. The chain saw is not as beautiful as maple either.

Cooking in isolation...

A few days ago I picked up some chicken thighs - skin on, still on the bone. They were cheap, looked like decent quality, and were one of the few appetising things left on the fresh meat shelf of the supermarket I'd reluctantly visited.

Today, I decided to make a red Thai curry for our lunch. Comfort food. It also helped with my daily exercise because, having never skinned, de-boned and trimmed chicken thighs until now, I'd no idea how much of a work-out it would be (I'm no chef )...

Anyway... this is diced chicken thigh, potatoes, onion, chestnut mushrooms and plenty of healthy garlic (good for the immune system ), in a red Thai sauce made with coconut milk. Medium hot, but a little hotter than medium I served it up with fluffy white rice, and my Mum and Dad devoured it. So did I

If we were all to eat raw cloves, social distancing would be spontaneous

A not too close macro shot withe the Tamron 90. You can see there is a nut on top, but what is the entire object, it's a tool, some of what you see may not be a part of it.

I'd say it was a volume knob, but it looks as if it goes up to 13, not 11.

A sellotape/packing tape dispenser/'gun'?

Edit: Well I was beaten to the punch, plus highlighted that my skim-reading is not up to scratch.

We are allowed to pop out to the grocers and, even on that half a mile or so, spring clearly does not wait for corona... (KP with Samyang 8mm fisheye, pef conversion in Darktable, some Gimp to remove a jet contrail high in the sky)
