Hi Everyone, and welcome to Post Processing Challenge #325.
Firstly, a big thanks must be extended to our previous host noelcmn. With the current issues we're all facing and the responsibilities he has on top of that he still found time to drop by and keep the challenge going. Again, well done mate, and don't forget to look after yourself too.
For Challenge #325 I looked at several options but wanted to find something that might be a challenge that could be represented in several different ways. The greatest thing about the PP Challenge is to see the variety of interpretations people create from a single image. I hope the image is both challenging and enjoyable for everyone who takes on #325.
A little about the image. I like an image that has variable light, and this was a scene that evolved before me exactly the way I like them. Unfortunately though I forgot to up the ISO so when I chimped and saw motion blur I realised my mistake. Ah well, not an image I'd use but the basics of what I wanted to create is not that much different than stage lighting in a natural city environment. I like to capture an image like this to make the most of the sunset and city lights which invariably means to get this image right, appropriate PP to get the subject people sufficiently lit is key, but so is keeping it natural.
The image was captured using the K-1 so there's plenty of pixels to provide crop options if that suits you. For those interested the A lens being referred to is the Carl Zeiss T* 2/35 ZK, the image was captured at f2.
The link to the folder is here:
My Files there is both a DNG and full size jpeg available for the challenge. (Drop me a message if the link doesn't work, I've messed that up before so, you know...
)
Okey dokey, in Oz land it's Saturday 28 March and I reckon I will keep this open to Sunday 05 April to give people some options to have a go without dragging the challenge out too long.
Best of luck everyone, I can't wait to see what we get.
Tas
