Fortunately I was able to resist the urge to jam a screw driver or knife edge into the slot, and after some gentle tapping on the camera body, it came loose.
Good news

A unicorn appeared on Facebook yesterday. It just happened to be located in Adelaide. I might have acted impulsively.

Lens for June is sorted.

I don't think that I need another lens, but you know how it works... you see some lens listed on sale and start thinking... In my case, it's nothing fancy, but I spotted the Pentax-A 70-210/4. Good condition, reasonably priced. I'm waiting for more detailed pictures of it.
I saw what it can do - looks encouraging. The only zoom I own in this range is 55-300 PLM, but among its numerous advantages, it is a bit slow. Ok, f/4 is not a world record either, but I like the A-series lenses, and I don't mind manual focusing (at least not yet), so I might give it a go.

TO my surprise, I came across a Pro-Master 28-200mm, and a 70-210 that doesn't seem to suffer from zoom creep. They were attached to two Pentax SLR's that I purchased as a lot from a co-worker several years ago, and have been sitting in a box since that time. I think I have some long expired BW film as well, I guess I'll run a roll through each camera and see if they have no light leaks and are otherwise serviceable.

My copy of the A 70-210 is really good. I Singled with it in June 18.

Thanks, I think I needed sort of encouragement
I went through your pictures taken with this lens - some are really nice ones. It seems that if I don't screw the pictures up, the lens won't either

Thanks. I was surprised how nice some of them were looking through. I generally find looking at shots a lens has taken to be more useful than reading a review.
