I spy another tree - that would never be mistaken for a baobab. Must scan some of the chromes from Sequoia NP. Some concern about whether the current epic drought in California is a threat to sequoias and giant redwoods.

Yes you must! These Sequoia NP shots are from 2010 and there wasn't drought yet but my concern when we were there was the pollution. It was bad and pretty suffocating actually, and I wonder how that effects the trees long term. The ranger I asked about it said because of the wind currents from the coast and central valley, the mountain range there traps all the pollution that is generated from SF and the other NorCal metros...
