I spy a White and Yellow flower which happens to be an Iris as well

I spy a predominantly white flower against a dark background - spotted wintergreen, many now up along the trails where we walk. These are commonly isolated , or perhaps four or five well-spaced plants in one area. They don't form dense patches in the manner of May flowers or partridgeberry.
