I spy mums, the favorite flower for Autumn hereabouts. If you cannot read all of the old milestone: "85 miles from Boston 15 to N.Hampton." It might have been along the Boston Post Road although I'm not sure that early New England route in passed through my town. Seems to me it went farther south, through Connecticut. I'll try to check,

NOT a mile marker along the Boston Post road (which was established in the 1600's and is generally regarded as the first inter-urban route in North America). I'll search more and see if I can discover what road the stone originally marked.
