[as a result of the friction hand drill ( spindle ) technique demonstrated to us by the Maasai in a village east of the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania also pictured is an authentic Maasai walking stick ( I brought one home) ]

We learned to do something similar when I was in Boy Scouts. I remember several methods for lighting fires without a match. I find that kind of thing fun
