I spy something small

on a large animal- Sunda

who died Wednesday

" The 58-year-old Asian elephant had lived at the zoo for 52 years.

“Sunda was a wonderful elephant who has had the longest tenure of any animal at this zoo and has brought happiness to so many people who have come to see her. We will all truly miss her,” - Zoo Director Brendan Riley

Either Mantella madagascariensis or M. baroni, by the look. Quite hard to tell them apart. And no, not good to eat!
Thanks! I see that some even think the Mantella madagascariensis to be several cryptic species as well. I guess a barcoding project might help clear up that issue. Not that I know anything about genetics.

Still spying hippo.

Snuck up on this dude and snapped a shot of him over the rim of the riverbank.
