Dog Statue, at the local SPCA, and suffering somewhat from the ravages of time

I spy a dog. This one is worth remembering. His name is Togo and he was involved in the serum run now immortalized by the Iditerod sled-dog race. Balto is more famous because he lead the last 55 miles. but before this Togo lead his team for 261 miles, though pitch black night, across the most dangerous country and the coldest temperatures of the journey, saving the team several times by avoiding open water while crossing the ice in total darkness. It's worth reading "The Cruelest Miles"
