I'm giving July some thought. I think I'm in as well, but what lens? Been thinking about giving the Laowa 25mm f2.8 2x-5x ultra macro, but I'm concerned that it's so specialized that I can't use it every day for a month. Oh well, back to thinking.

That is a surprise!
I just don't have the dedication or the skills to do justice to such a major investment.
Reality bites every now and then....

That's part of the reason it's titled a challenge! You'll never know until you try.

True but do you really want to see 31 images of coins, my desk, fingernails, wood texture and?

Well I've been umming and aahhhing about July. Work is back in full flow now and will stay busy. But.... I've achieved three months in a row which is a first for me since my first SIC in Jan '15 (Hurrah for lockdown ???).
I also have a weeks holiday booked in July and just booked a cottage in Northumberland now restrictions are easing - as we need to finish our visits along Hadrian's Wall that we started last year.
So, I'm in .............. just got to decide what lenses I'm taking on holiday and pick one of those; probably manual focus so if anyone wants a particular A series lens singled then I'm willing to listen
I have already singled the A24-50, A*85 and A135/2.8 on the K-1 in 2018/9 and obviously the A20 this month.
Choice of.... A16, 15, 24, 28/2, 35/2, 50/1.2, 50Macro, 200/4, 400/5.6 and the 70-210/4 - they'll probably all be a fit for subjects up north

I'm probably not going to take part this next month, as it looks like I just won't have the time. But, you should totally do the 400. It's quite the challenge somedays not to get repetitive shots, but overall it's been fun. I'd be interested to see what someone else does with it. (I'm just finishing up June with it).

As it turns out, I emailed Pentax Australia and was dismayed to hear that they are not expecting their first shipment until 20th July.
As such I have asked for my pre-order to be cancelled, so I can re-order it with the current 15% discount voucher

So no DFA*85 in July I'm afraid. I can only hope it arrives in time for my birthday on the 22nd. Then bring on August!

As such, my thoughts are now turning to other lenses; I'm happy to take requests. The more interesting options include:
K 15/3.5
K 30/2.8
Lomography Lomogon 32/2.5 Art (probably the front runner)
K 85/1.8
F 85/2.8 Soft
K135/2.5 on full frame (done on APS-C years ago)
DA* 300/4.0 on full frame (done on APS-C years ago)

I'm not going to consider 645 lenses because I'm planning to sell out of that whole system.
Sadness on the delay but happiness that you can get the 15% discount. I received a few other items yesterday, I weakened and went for a 100 year T shirt and some lapel pins of the LX K1 and 67 as well. Surprised to hear of you thinking of removing the 645 from the stable, the results have been impressive from what you've shared, is it lack of new 645 lenses coming or something else, no need to answer this question unless you feel the need to share.
For next month the Lomogon sounds interesting with the DA* 300mm a second choice, I love my F* 300and would like to see some more shots from the modern version

I'm in with the A 70-210 which had been already planned for June, but it gave space to the F 24-50.

Not bad In September '15 my old film gear was already collecting dust and the "digital era" didn't reach me yet (I bought my K-50 in 2016)

My journey to M world is near the end. Two to go and in July it's M200/4.
The 200 doesn't get much love in the reviews but I actually like the way it renders. It requires effort to get focus spot on otherwise the CA in the 200's oof area creeps into the subject area and reduces sharpness.

A cpl filter in daylight conditions also seems to help with contrast and saturation.

I changed my mindset for the challenge this month and it seems to be holding up. I stopped the competition mindset (be it the others or myself) and allowed some so so photos through. Before I had tried to have amazing shots everyday and I burned out. The trick then is to put up different subjects, like I could probably do a gear shot for the next month quite easily but that would be boring. + I don't have a specific style or genre - I'm a quite random photographer with my shortcomings masked by a collection of exquisite glass

agreed - on my end, I had to stop 'competing' with everyone else shooting and posting in the SIC - I'm here for me, for my education, for my enjoyment...

and if someone likes my photos, that's OK too...
