Single in September 2020

As such, it will have to wait until Monday, but it's safe to say October's "Single In" lens is sorted.

DOH!!

Great that it’s arrived though, and I look forward to seeing it wielded

so... "85's for October" is shaping up....

I suppose I could manage that if I carry my 50 and my 35, and take a shot with each...

So here is a small epilogue to my saga of the Minolta mount Tokina 35-105 lens.
Nice story Good that the rest of the lenses are fine. I must admit I never threw a lens to a garbage bin.... what's the feeling?

Actually, it feels quite good. After my father passed away years ago, I got into this habit with some of his very old, poorly stored, fungus ridden lenses and other gear. Let's just say that I don't do it very often, but sometimes it's what has to happen.

Hmmph ... welp. Hard drives. Hmmph.

I grabbed my older external hard drive and hooked it up, as I'd been a bit uncomfortable about the diminishing available space on the drive I have hooked up all the time. The older one had been throwing up annoying "eject before disconnecting" messages every time the Mac went to sleep, so I just stopped using it. This time, interestingly, it wasn't doing so. Newer OS on the Mac? I thought.

Anyway.

Went to use the Mac and it had restarted at some point.

Weird. Never mind.

Few hours later, it had done so again. Weird.

Second external drive was not showing.Weirder.

Only found it using Disk Utility. It was there but unmounted. Couldn't mount it. Feeling pretty bothered at this point...

"First Aid" in Disk Utility ...SUCCESS!

Immediately copy most (the most important) of the stuff back to the main external drive, but kept the older one connected.

Come back later ... "eject drive before disconnecting". Hmmm ... odd.

Later still, drive doesn't show in Finder. "Knowing how to fix that" - but still rather bothered, and glad I had re-copied stuff - I opened Disk Utility. This time, First Aid did not work.

He no repair.

He dead.

I am really really glad I copied back all my karate-do videos, and music (videos and logic/garageband stuff I'd recorded). The magic vids were less of an issue; I could re-download those from whence I'd bought them in the first place, but there were many GB, so I am glad.

Maaaaaan... Technology.

Glad also that I kept my head, as I could very easily have freaked out.

So apart from my SiC lens and despite having little time I must have tried the Tamron 90 macro. Looks like an awesome lens! Wide-open:

Welp, just bought a new, and different, M42 adaptor. Description on evilBay says you screw to lens and attach to camera (so far, so same), but remove both lens and adaptor together, then taking the adaptor off the lens. That indeed is what I want.

100% I’m trying it on my K-30 first though, as if it gets stuck on the body I won’t cry xP
