Randall. There's a blast from the past. I haven't heard of them in years.

You should check out the gun shows in your area. Many times they have sellers/dealers that offer Flint and Cap Lock guns, sometimes antiques. Be careful of Damascus barrels though if you want to shoot it! Make sure there is no pitting in or outside the barrel and have a good gun smith take a look at it! And you don't need to go through an FFL tp buy one (yet)!
I have a cap and ball 1860 Army revolver, and a TC Hawken .50 cal which currently needs to have the barrel replaced, as I bought it off someone who stored it loaded after a misfire for years, and the extreme inside end of the barrel is heavily corroded. It's also a percussion. I'm a lefty, so I would really need to find a left-handed flintlock, which are more rare, as I don't think I could avoid flinching if the lock was that close to my face. One day...

Sometimes you are lucky with the ammo you choose, but I have found each gun likes one brand or type over another. Even the same model and caliber gun can like one ammo over another, go figure!

IPSC action shot's fit this thread? Got a few slide scans from around 40 years ago. Unidentified firearm.
I just wish I could jump like that. 40 years ago, I probably could.

Here's a photo of one of my "city" carries (my country carry was posted earlier in this thread) taken today with my Nikon D4 and 85 1.4G.

I ended up going with the CZ 457 for my 22LR competition killer. The last pieces arrived today and I just finished putting it all together.

Oldschool tacticool at the range last Friday. Brought my camera and 500 mm Tamron to use as a spotting scope so I could record which shot was which for load developement, and figured I'd take a shot of the rifles I brought that day. Two Swedes, a Dane, and a Norwegian. I'm sure there's a joke there somewhere. I was hitting steel out to 600m with the old iron sight CG80, and after zeroing at 100 I found that the rear sight elevation marks are close enough for me. First round hits on all of them from 300-600m, plus hit 5 for 5 on each target. The biggest one was at 600m, it's an old saw blade 36" diameter.

Where'd you get the stock for the rifle on the left in the second image? It looks amazing.

It's pretty comfy to shoot. I think it's factory, it came with the rifle when I got it anyway. It's a Kongsberg 393 target/sniper rifle from Norway in 308. Near as I can tell it was probably built sometime in the 90's, and I've only been able to find pictures on the internet of one other with a stock like this one. They made tons of hunting rifles, and I've found pictures of a few that have a heavy thumbhole stock and a somewhat heavy barrel like mine. It's kind of neat that a 308 that old has a 10.5 twist barrel, rather than the more common 12 twist. It's too bad the chamber throat is as short as it is though, it's a long action rifle and I would be able to seat heavy bullets further out with a longer throat.
