The world is different when viewed at 21 mm on 24x36 vs APS-C.

I am giving you a nudge to insanity Tsuken - 21mm for 2021 is at the same time great challenge and totally within reach. (Do it.)

Ohhh, I know....
But it would still be 21 in 21, and I like to be different

21 for 21

A possibly foolish thought - but...

21 for 21?

As in: HD Pentax-DA 21mm f3.2 ED AL Limited for 2021.

As in: all year with this one lens.

Or am I mad?

Or can it be both?

I started similar with the Plastic Fantastic a few years ago. I got through till late July, but it was falling away from photography in toto that put the kibosh on the project, rather than any problem sticking with the lens.

So I wonders...

The concept appeals greatly, but not the daily torture involved. Going to a lesser extreme, another objective could be to capture an image on the 21st of each month using the DA21 variants. Only yields 12 images for the year but that may push creativity towards quality rather than sausage making. Or, 21 images made in 21 different fortnights, using DA21 variants, with five fortnights to revisit specific shots in different light, weather, season for comparative purposes. Again, plenty of time for creativity. Just my two cents worth.

Pokémon! The Power of ... And

Alrighty then. I was 80% there anyway, but the encouragement here has tipped me over the edge: 21 for 21 it is.

Rod, those are excellent ideas, but I’m going boots and all.

LOL sausage-making. I’m ok with a bit of that.

To keep things interesting you could build minichallenges within the main theme. Like that one month did palying cards or youp regular rolley theme.

We could use the Gregorian calendar, and use the 21mm on days which are multiples of 21.

No need to hurry with ideas. You got all year

Truly huge rispect if you pull this off. My first year of continuous shooting already felt like big accomplishment and I changed lens each month.

I really need to clean up my study, no doubt I have tons of props and such, but too scattered to make easy use.
