Pentax Gnome - will travel

The Pentax Gnome and his camera came in today, so we took off on the motorcycle.

Location: Raleigh County, West Virginia, USA

First we stopped by a stream, then at a farm, and finally at the lake.

He is ready to travel again, so private message me your address if you want him next. All you have to do is take a photo of him in your location, post it in this forum, & pass him off to the next person.

I must be missing something. Where did that K-5-wielding Pentax Gnome originate? I trust he was born by a 3-D printer?

Silly Madaboutpix, Everyone knows gnomes come from middle earth - not 3d printers! LOL

The gnome is with me!

I'm so sorry I haven't taken him out yet! I got so busy at work, and have been working through the weekends, but I have two days of adventures planned for us starting tomorrow, and will post photos very soon.

Who will be next to host the Pentax gnome?

Pentax Gnome visits Palace of Fine Arts and Baker Beach in San Francisco!

....finally getting out on a beautiful but windy day!

I used an old K110D with DA 18-55mm kit lens for these shots. I received this as a non-working "parts" body to harvest for "white Japan" solenoids for repair of aperture block failure in later model cameras. However, everything seems to be working fine with this "parts" body.

Pentax Gnome goes wine tasting in Napa!

Yesterday, the Pentax gnome came wine tasting with us in California's Napa County wine country. He was a good sport, but says he still prefers mead or ale to wine.

Next up in the rotation to host the gnome are:
  1. Sidney Porter
  2. pbancr

The gnome will be on his way to Sidney Porter today (with tracking number)

Thanks!

I don't have a card reader for the special tiny SD cards in the gnome's camera. Maybe someone else can help the gnome upload his photos?

I'm sure the gnome would be thrilled to visit Germany. Only someone would need to be willing to ship internationally, and you may also need to ship internationally to the next host.

I have "upgraged" the gnome's packaging with a box from my fancy coffee subscription. It should be sturdy enough to handle a few trips. I have also included a chunk of "blue tack" poster tack compound which should work much better than duct tape for attaching the gnome's camera. There is also enough of this for a few more journeys.

Everything weighs just under 13 oz. so can be shipped within the USA inexpensively using the First Class Parcel service for lightweight packages (requires package to be under 13 oz.). Shipping to Ohio from California will cost me $6.75 USD. This may give others an idea about the cost commitment to participate in this game if interested.
