At last count, after leadbelly, there are 42 people on the list.
If the lens is to make it back by Xmas 2009, that means an average less than 9 days per person from now on, including travel time, clearing customs etc. Given that it took 18 days for a lens to travel from Canada to Hobart recently (admittedly Xmas mail would have slowed it down a bit, but not that much from experience), I don't really think it's wise for people to stick to the strict list ordering.
On top of that, we've already had the experience of people not being around to receive the lens when it's been sent to them. No criticism there: that's life, but it can't be ignored.
I'd say, move it within country or region, but those who have it should know how prompt and reliable the relevant postal services are.
Obviously, it can go back to North America on the final legs of its journey.
