Let me know when you get this. I wouldn't mind tagging along for a dual person STL photo shoot. Perhaps old town St. Charles or downtown?

Edit: Perhaps we can even make an excuse to get the STL Group together?

At last count, after leadbelly, there are 42 people on the list.

If the lens is to make it back by Xmas 2009, that means an average less than 9 days per person from now on, including travel time, clearing customs etc. Given that it took 18 days for a lens to travel from Canada to Hobart recently (admittedly Xmas mail would have slowed it down a bit, but not that much from experience), I don't really think it's wise for people to stick to the strict list ordering.

On top of that, we've already had the experience of people not being around to receive the lens when it's been sent to them. No criticism there: that's life, but it can't be ignored.

I'd say, move it within country or region, but those who have it should know how prompt and reliable the relevant postal services are.

Obviously, it can go back to North America on the final legs of its journey.

I used Google maps, so much easier to edit.

Link to map
Can you please edit my details to Fukuyama, Hiroshima, Japan on google maps. Also, is there any way to have a chronological order on the left side name list and or arrows pointing where the lens traveled to?

cheers

It may never happen, but go ahead and keep one of us on the list, either Stratman or myself.

Folks, we're now down to a fraction over 8 days per person, including travel time between destinations, if this lens is to get back to its owner by Christmas this year.

If lbam has changed his mind about things, then fine: I must have missed that.

Otherwise, I suggest people (a) get a move on, and (b) start to monitor times to calculate if it is possible to get round everybody in the required time.

Sorry to nag, but some decisions are going to have to be made sometime about either circulating within countries (to speed things up) or simply going on bouncing around the world hoping for the best.
