There are not many of us Down Under, why not send down here, do the rounds in fairly quick time, and then it can hit the States where it will spend a long time covering all the applicants.
Just a suggestion!

It's your choice, but there are consequences linked to each one, of course. If you keep it in the region (ie send it down under for a full circuit here) then it can go back to soccerjoe afterwards (assuming his cameras are back in service then) and hopefully, we can make up a bit of time by doing so.

The average cycle time's currently around 18 days per person, no doubt for good reasons: you do the arithmetic. I don't want to sound like I'm nagging.

Expect this value to significantly increase when the lens will start making its way to other continents. Delivery time is usually 2-3 weeks.

Since turnover time has increased, maybe it would be better to stick to regions for time consideration. We all initially thought that we'd get the lens, take a few snaps and send it off but then life gets in the way, accidents, pregnant wives and the enemy (customs) are all there to spoil our fun

If the lens was to hit Aus it would pick up a lot of the lost time, surely, depending on the diligence of each user.
One day could be spent catching a few shots, and then lens would, in most cases, be in the next Aussies hands in 3 to 4 days, or even quicker, depending on location. (AussiePost doing its job of course).

Leadbelly contacted me asking for address details. Looks like the lens is heading down under.

Leadbelly must be busy, hopefully we'll see his photos soon. If the lens is already on it's way to Australia and there's a few people there, this little project will pick up speed again.

A novel idea indeed. If it heads to Africa, I'll gladly join the queue
