Ready to shift Nifty

I'm back in Hobart now, and just about ready to move the lens on.

Lithos, I've sent you a PM to find where to address the package for its Brisbane visit.

Photos up at the weekend - work beckons in the meantime.

I met RobA_Oz today and took a few photos with the nifty fifty this afternoon before returning it to him.

A dull overcast day but I managed a few worth posting. Will do so soon.

I need the login info for the flickr account.

Hi Rob!

Nice images - particularly the rear view mirror (love the shallow DOF in front - aren't big apertures wonderful????) and the view of the Melbourne pier

Look forward to a few more!

Cheers

Thanks for the kind remarks, fellows.

I hesitated about the shot of the ferry, because you can see some obvious ghosting near the funnel, which I can only attribute to the tripod head moving when I pressed the shutter release (I forgot to pack my remote). I used a light-weight Manfrotto with a quick-release head, which doesn't clamp quite tightly enough - very disappointing for this brand.

Lithos has replied to me with address details, so it'll be off by Express Post on Monday morning.

Around Hobart

I had the lens for a couple of hours on Friday before returning it to Rob.

An overcast day but anyway here is a few I have processed so far.

A modern building at the back of Salamanca Place in Hobart. Flying the Australian and Aboriginal flags.

An old convict built building in Hobart that is falling into disrepair.

A view from West Hobart looking down the Derwent River.

Stairway to the Salamanca Mews residential complex Hobart.

Thanks! The light was very flat so I gave it an infra red processing to get the contrast and gritty feeling.

Ok, sorry for not sticking my head into this thread often enough. (This forum, I think, is suffering quasi-political correct sub-forum overload: "Adam: I demand we have a separate forum for all users of Grong-Grong Bottling Plant close-up adaptor lenses. I feel alienated that myself and the other guy who uses them have to go to the Pentax Lenses sub-forum, and in fact take it as a personal insult...")

Also, remind me to change my location details.

Big Red, no, I ain't in Brissie anymore. Sorry. I do miss the place. Specifically, I miss Ted's on Adelaide for obtaining 400TX. So PM me your address, and I'll have to send it out Monday.

Sorry about the timeframe I've spent with.
