The lens is on its way again...

Had two weekends of weddings and have been very busy at work but at least got time this weekend to play with the lens. Will also upload some photos.

Ps also had a little problem with aperture ring that got stuck again after I accidentally moved it off the A setting while changing the lens but it is fixed now.

I finally got some of my pictures up onto the Flickr account. I also did not have much time to play and really look for good shots. Pity life is so rushed. It really is a stunning lens!

I should be getting the nifty fifty next week as it starts its asian leg of its journey. I tried to go back and make a list of those that have expressed interest in the nifty fifty. Let me know if I'm missing someone.

This is in no particular order. The lens will visit 6-8 participants in each region and then move on. Please try to take photos within the first couple of days after you receive the lens and mail it on.

I'll take one or two more Asian participants before it moves to a different region. It is cool that we'll see 4 different Asian countries but it would be nice if the lens didn't have to go through customs each time but there isn't much we can do.

Australia will be next so let's get a few more ready to go there because there isn't a long waiting list for the current project.

Hi folks

Just to confirm the lens has been posted onto Abacus07, and it should arrive with him this week.

And do just want to say a huge thank you to Abacus, and all you patient Forumites, for allowing the lens such an extended time in South Africa. Some uncontrollable factors meant it was here for much longer than intended, but as all of this is for fun, enjoyment and appreciation, I'd guess that is forgivable.
And of course to the South African Forumites, who have posted some wonderful images, and for showing off our beautiful country.
We'll be booking the lens one of these days again for another SA visit -there are other forumites who can also participate, but have not had the time.

I was one of the first to take the lens for an outing here in SA and enjoyed the company of the lens very much.
Thank you Noel for organizing things, looking after the logistics, etc.
Thank you Abacus for allowing your "baby" to wander around in this part of the world.

I would love to see some photos from rural Slovenia, Switzerland, Germany, etc. Are there any Pentaxians out there that would like to take the lady for a spin ? She makes good company - promise !

some great shots by noel. The lens is still on its way here but it always takes extra time when customs are involved. There is a big festival coming up this weekend that would be perfect for the project.

Just to be clear this isn't my lens, I only made a website that I usually don't get updated timely.

It ended up taking 2+ weeks for the lens to get here but it's in great shape and I have some weekend travel plans. Hopefully I find the perfect waterfall for the 50.

I've put all of the photos up on the blog - Traveling Nifty Fifty. I know that there are at least one set of photos from RSA that still need to get onto flickr. Try to do this ASAP so I can blog them (predated).

If all goes as planned the lens should travel to Singapore next week before the Philippines and Japan. Australia is next. The lens won't go fast in Asia since it will need to clear customs at each country but as long as each person only keeps it for a couple of days we will be okay.

We're accepting signups from everywhere since there are only a handful of people signed up.

Wow! So I am next in line after abacus07? I hope I can give the lens justice as my photography has taken a backseat this October. Hope to pick up the slack when the lens arrive here in Singapore.
