I got a PM from Arne back on the 3rd of march for an address. I'm assuming he sent it. I've had post from Europe to here take 3 to 4 weeks before, so I'm not too worried yet.

Ha!! I'm hoping against hope that I end up with the lens in August (doesn't matter which year), so I can take it to the Missouri State Fair, which is a big draw here in my city and a great opportunity for photos...

Here are some shots with the lens so far. Will shoot more later in the week. Since it's spring in Florida, you get flowers and sunsets.















I also did some comparison shots against my 8-element Super Tak 50/1.4. There are a couple of more on my flickr, but this shot really stood out to me for comparison, both at 1/1600, f2 ISO100, both straight OOC with zero post processing. The A50 has a better color saturation, sharpness is similar, but the bokeh is very different. The STak has a bit of the swirly bokeh, and the transitions are very smooth. The 1.7 is a bit harsher, and no swirl. On the plus side, the A is much much easier to use. What I want is an 8-element in an A lens....arrgh.

A few more parting shots from the other day. I have had very little time to shoot, and not very nice light to shoot in. These were on the way to work late last week. I had hoped for a couple this weekend, but rain rain rain kept the lens indoors. I had hoped to spend more time comparing it to my other 50's, but some work came in and I'll be packed in for a month or more with very long days and no free weekends. I can tell it's really sweet wide open. Closed down, all 50's are close enough to the same to make no difference to me, except for maybe color rendering (that is, they are all amazing).

As for passing along...It's in the post to Bill2849 since BeerCan never replied to my PM. Should be there in a couple of days. Thanks for letting me participate.
