Also, much thanks for making me google "ton of bubble wrap":

You'll all be delighted to hear that the lens is fine. I'll go out a bit tomorrow and post some pics.

First shot. Interestingly, I couldn't change the aperture when in Debug Mode.

Yayy it got there safely I just got a hold of my camera and I PP'd the pics that I took with the nifty fifty, now, I only took 7 pictures with it due to the weather conditions, and in the pictures it looks as if they are really noisy, but it was just a massive snowfall. I'll post them when I have decent internet, either Sunday or Monday

So, I CBA to go through the entire thread - at what point did the original 50mm f/2 morph into a f/1.7?

A piece of bad news... Infinity is wayyyy off - it barely reaches 30m. I'll see if I can scrape up the courage to try and fix it. I hope it's as easy as with the Pancolar.

No idea. I thought it was always a 1.7 but it has been replaced at least twice I think.

I have never done a fix other than aperture.
At one point the replacement fifty had fungus and one of the members cleaned it.
You may contact him for info.
I will try to find the link for you when I get on a computer.

From what I know it has always been an f1.7 lens. It might be those who offered to replace the missing lens proposing a different kind either an M f1.7 or an A f2.0.

Thanks!

Due to the weather and exams I haven't used the lens much, so I'd like to keep it another week, if possible, and then pass it on.
