Hey Netuser, sorry it looks like you may be right.

After fearing the lens had been lost Gokenin unselfishly offered to submit another of the same lens to continue the journey. This was something he should be noted for I believe.

The lens has turned up now, and the current holder has also been given a copy of the latest list from which he can see where to send the lens to. Not having seen this actual list myself I just hope it has some new continents including Europe on it, and coming soon.

Happy New Year!

K.

I have been looking at the list and it appears that East Shore Charlie is ready to pass the lens on to the next person and he has contacted me for me address but I think this lineup for next inlines looks more effective in terms of time in transit for the lens

Naturephoto1P (Florida, USA)
the_int21h (South Caroline USA)
mi2nc (North Carolina USA)
GateCityRadio (Greensboro,NC)
speedoo (New York, USA)
m8o (Eatons Neck, NY, USA)
miserere (Boston, MA USA)
Dave_Sz (Illinois 60110 USA)
RickL (Missouri, USA)
dws1117 (TX, USA)
xyzik (Seattle, USA)
John Araki (Hawaii, USA)

then on to Canada and Europe

again this is only my suggestion if anyone has other opinions please do tell also does anyone have the sign-in info for the flickr page it looks like the info may have gone missing and its not being updated

Great work there Gokenin.
I feel perhaps I'd rather the lens was sent to London/Ireland next, then on to those in continental Europe as the lens has already done a fair amount of North America (and Australia).

Just my opinion.

I maintain, the holder of the lens chooses but takes note of the list in terms of when potential users first showed an interest as well.

Transit distance/time are obviously partial considerations.

fyi all, I have it presently. I'll be looking to send it out at the end of next week. I wanna spend my time with it in NYC. Luckily I need to stay in the city a few days & nights next week, so that works out perfectly!

My shots from the nifty 50

Before sending to M80 I shot a couple shots with the famous traveling Pentax Nifty 50....forgot how small and lightweight this little gem was. Weather has been bad in MD lately with snow, fog and cold....shot the the toy train for my 2 yr old grandson....he loves Thomas the Train....

When i received it the lens had a rear cap and that was all.
glass was ok though.i couldn't leave it like that so i had that spare minolta cap and sent it on with that protecting it.

Perhaps someone would be kind enough to add a genuine Pentax lens cap to it soon, as traveling naked is risky K.
While the Minolta was doing the trick, I thought I'd add what little I could to this initiative and gave it the old Pentax branded lens-cap off my own 50/1.7.

To the remainder of the people to receive this, please try to not lose it.

p.s. I almost lost the filter yesterday/today. I took it off yesterday before I took my last set of photos on the roof of my building. I forgot to put it back on. Luckily, there's little to no traffic on the roof these days. It was still sitting on the bench I placed it on.

If there is still time when it gets to Canada I'd love to show it some Saskatchewan hospitality.

Sorry, I'm long overdue posting my time with it. I've been in PP hell the last few weeks, putting a bunch of panoramas together. After a few hundred shots taken with this lens, I give you the last two taken in my "cityscape panorama" series... Please click below to view larger...

[IMGWIDELEFT]https://www.pentaxforums.com/gallery/images/2813/1_IMGP3962-2_stitch_2__1000pxHi_.jpg[/IMGWIDELEFT]

... or even better click here [ Pentax User Photo Gallery - Travel, Cityscapes & Streets ] then on the image at that location to see the full 37.5% rendering.

On a cold rainy Sunday night, I passed it off to speedoo, as he was in the city too. Hope your having a good time with it speedoo.

EasternCharlie, I'll have to PM you for the Flickr info.

Steve, that's a wonderful panorama. Due to the lousy weather, I had to settle for some night-time shots of signs here in Brooklyn and some day shots of deserted Coney Island. I sent the lens off to mi2nc in North Carolina, where he's been having some bad weather too.

I'll try to post a pic or two soon.

I'm happy to give it a tour of Bangkok if it's passing through Southeast Asia in the next 12 months.
