The big lake held some promise tonight, but weather never delivered.. and it was biting to boot, not enjoyable.

I think I'll sit May out. Too many balls in the air at the moment.
Unfortunately, the balls are still whirling around. Today will be the third day in a row I have missed, so it might be time to bail.

It's certainly not the lens. It's been a wonderfully versatile daily carry.

In other news, Ismo's knife now has a bespoke box to go with it. I might make an image for a cameo post before I send it to Finland

Busy day in a busy week. Today my son will graduate from Virginia Tech, so there will be a lot of family photos. One chapter ends and another begins.
Congraduations! Busy month for us too...My son is graduating from Texas State tomorrow and another from high school next week.

I occasionally flip thru my old SIC albums. It usually starts when I consider posting some old shot to some thread and typically ends up with me going thru them all

Baby steps matt; making that box took about three hours

... and I'm done with the 'Wide-Open' portion of this month's Challenge - this lens is simply not at its best at f2 (for the most part), so I will continue the rest of the month in more appropriate f-stops....

Still quite an achievement - as much as I like shooting wide-open, it can be very limiting...

With the right lens it's liberating

agreed - the SMC A* 85/1.4 is going to be a blast wide open...

but this Leica is simply better at f2.8 and beyond....

There is only so much glowy abstract backgrounds for me. I was caught in the bokeh trap for a while, but after switching to the K-1 a few years ago I have been trying to use that blur more judiciously.

Ok, maybe I was too fast with my comment I realized that I own at least two lenses that work wide-open very well (or at least they are... inspiring)

I'm still stoked on DFA*85 wide open rendering. Stupidly sharp, and by it I mean 200% pixel peeping sharpness, combined with glorious bokeh. A slight touch of fringing, but if not shooting branches against bright sky it's nothing to worry about. Half a month with it wide open has been easy thought my renovation project theme has been limiting in subjects and time.

I expect DFA*50 to be about the same. Wouldn't might winning in few days
