Tempted with a macro month. I haven't dusted off the DFA 100 WR for quite a while. And it will play very nicely with the K-3 iii

The DFA 150-450 might be just a bit much for my current level of motivation

That would be very cool. The user reviews coming out about the K3iii and Warrens shots have been superb. I nearly pushed the button on an FA 100mm f2.8 macro, until I discovered it was in Romania! So add £30%, suddenly it wasn't quite the bargain. There is a nice F 50mm macro, but I have so many 50s and I still want an fa35 f2, an fa28 f2.8 and a 20-40. Anybody know where I can get a money tree

I have a 50mm Macro f4(?), I used a lot of manual settings, maybe using a manual lens as well will slow me down and give me some inspiration.

I read that the plastic fantastic DA35/2.4 is optically identical to the FA35/2 (which raises a question about 2.4 vs 2…). So it’s whether metal instead of plastic, and an aperture ring, make the dinero worthwhile.

Interesting. I liked the 35mm f2.4 but love the limited. The FA 28mm f2.8 is a strong contender, even though we are talking Japanese import, because I have 21mm and 35mm but will never be able to afford the gap filling 31mm limited

I picked up a Tamron Adaptall SP 90mm f/2.8 macro (72B) earlier this month, so I'm going to go with that. Maybe I can get in some tripod/focus stacking work.

Same formula, but the lenses in the DA35/2.4 are a little smaller in diameter. Still has nice pop, the focus ring is a lot smoother and more usable than the FA's. It's said to even be a little brighter than the nominal 2.4, but it does not cover the full 35mm format wide open. Mechanically, the front element feels equally exposed as the FA one, which however comes with a nice bayonet hood that attaches to the barrel whereas on the DA you have to screw one into the filter thread - nothing I'd want to put into my bag without taking it off. I've seen a lot of rather inexpensive used FA's after the HD FA release lately.

The FA28 is available used occasionally here, as is the F28. The classic higher element count F28 is preferred by some over the lower element count, but aspherical, FA28 - likely a question of priorities. The F28 is a solid and sharp performer with generally pleasant rendering, astro-shots show its limitations though (high coma wide open).

My thought exactly. This is why I eventually sold my da35/2.4 after getting 35 limited, although I thought I would never do that

I had bought this lens last year and singled it in October. What a stunner

I singled that lens last year and was quite impressed with it myself. The macro is find of clunky but you get used to it.

I’m in again. Lens TBD

I'm seriously leaning towards the SMC A 50/1.2 I picked up a few weeks ago....

I don’t know the comparative price, but I have recently fallen much more for the Sigma 30/1.4 than in previous years - as you may have noted in the SiC for whatever month it was last year. Actually a really excellent lens
