My apologies, I didn't realise you had not received a response to the .tif issue you have been experiencing. I also had an issue like this but the file download I was getting was really small and useless for doing the challenge. It was a.tif file.

I use Windows and my primary browser is Firefox. I found one day a message on the MediaFire page about ad blockers. It was around this time that I noticed the file problem and decided to try a different browser to do the download. This approach worked and while not as convenient as if it worked in my primary browser I just go to my second browser to download now and it works everytime.

The second browser I use is the Epic Privacy browser. I did try Opera as an alternative first but it did the same as Firefox.

A long winded tale but hopefully it gives you a few ideas to try. 🙂

I use Firefox too. Can't say I understand why an ad blocker would change a filename extension. But the universe is strange! I was an Opera evangelist for many years until new management released a version that killed off many of the features I liked the most. Been using Firefox ever since.

It seems to me that there are too many details and they distract from the main view.

I can't say why I've had my experiences, but I can share what's happened and the solution I found to the problem. All I could access from a Firefox download was a tiny version of the image. I didn't know why it started happening as it never happened over many years. It has not occurred since the change of browser.

I still use Firefox as my primary browser so I'll try Firefox again next time I do a challenge and post what happens.

Now, about the challenge, I'm liking the crop on Fdooch's version. I pondered a larger crop than the one I did and I think I got it wrong by not going with something more like that version.

The one I got with Firefox was 7360 x 4912 pixels. Weird we're getting such different results. I'm using Firefox v89.0.

Just a couple of hours to go... hope those with download issues have managed to get things resolved in time to enter.

This weeks torturous Post Procession Challenge #373 has ended. Perhaps a tad too difficult for some, judging by the relatively low number of submissions this week. Albeit some did experience download difficulties of the original files, so maybe it's not down to me.

My special thanks go to those that did choose to grasp the nettle, I hope you enjoyed the challenge.

The shot was from a real world scenario, where the client wanted night as well as the normal daytime offerings.

This image presented some special difficulties, over and and above the norm... namely massive dynamic range, low light noise and mixed light sources causing some colour balance issues.

The resultant submissions were all quite different in their approach, especially with the colour balance, some blue, some magenta, some orange. I therefore had an unfair advantage... by actually being there, I could actually colour manage the image to what I saw (as this is what the client would also expect to see).

So for me this weeks winner is Fdooch whose colours are the most pleasing and who also mentioned the need for some detail removal/cropping.

For those interested I will post here my version...

Thank you. I like your version more than my own. I made a mistake and didn't change the profile in Photoshop. Configured for printing on newsprint. Therefore, the colors turned out to be somewhat dirty. Cropping has clamped down on space. Therefore, I cannot fully consider myself a winner.

Thanks for your kind words, remember this supposed to be a bit of fun too... so your are still my winner.

I've sent you a PM this morning in reply to yours.
