Thank you to xs400 for hosting last weeks challenge and for selecting myself to host this week.

Following on this week with another night themed image... this time from a commissioned job to provide promotional imagery for this hotel group.

Good luck to all and remember have fun.

I've posted a preview image here on this thread to hopefully whet your appetite.

Chomp!

Bite No. 1: PP in On1 PhotoRAW 2020 using a 16:9 ratio, adjustments to levels, colour balance and sharpness. I need to recalibrate my screens, so my apologies if the colours aren't quite right.

Aye... a while back, I did have a similar themed PP Challenge of a Hotel by night.

As this is part of my commercial working life, I do like and feel obliged to share some of my trials and tribulations with you all.

However; it does come with its upsides, see the world... albeit too briefly in most cases. The downsides well... travelling delays/cancellations, queues, erroneous documentation issues, ATA Carnets, exposure/colour balance, way too many people... especially where you would prefer they weren't and latterly the one which has affected everyone... the Worldwide Pandemic.

But giving you all super sunny day shots... wouldn't make for much of a challenge now would it.

I'll post up on this thread, the actual image that I did submit to the client, which was derived from this raw file at the end of the challenge.

Am I missing something? The file downloaded as a tif, not a DNG.

The links I included are definitely to DNG and JPG files (I just did the download to check them myself).

So I'm really not sure how you ended up with a TIF.

I asked this a while back and was told to just change tiff to dng, but as I'm not sure where or when to do this I live with the tiff file.

Don't know if you are using a Windows, Mac, or Linux computer, but the process should be similar on each I assume. In Windows, single click on the .tif file. Then hover over the filename and single click again. This opens the filename for editing. Use the mouse to highlight tif, then type in dng and press enter. Be sure you don't also highlight the period between the file name and and three letter extension. Another way in Windows is to single click the tif file, then right click and select 'Rename'.

I changed tif to dng on the file I downloaded; it opened in RawTherapee no problem. The problem is that I'm not very good at RawTherapee.
