Does anybody have a recommendation for a hood for the A24mm/2.8 for use on a K-1? It looks like contrast could benefit quite a bit. I tried a petal-shaped one, which is mounted on a screw-in adapter. But the adapter vignettes on FF, even though the hood itself is fine and a nice solution for the KP. I can likely find some 58mm collapsible rubber hood to use on a step-up ring, maybe that is wide enough for the K-1, but also somewhat bulky.

Y'all aren't going to believe this....found this today at a thrift store. Came with lens hood and back lens cap. And, after a fair amount of coaxing, the SDM works ... sluggishly and not yet reliably. Still working to wake it up fully.
Wow! Great find!

Astonishing. Thrift stores and charity shops are always worth a look. I read of a guy who got an mz sporting a da limited, all for $50. It just shows that stuff is out there. I am really happy for you

Congrats! Easy to get a sluggish one when you pay ten times as much. Even with a bit of manual help for the AF sometimes, I really enjoyed the SIC in June with it, both on APS-C and FF.

Why is that a bad thing? Was your last copy not the best?

ah, no worries - I bought something else instead....

I came across an FA 43 for less than $400 at Adorama (used) and was pondering my last go-round with the lens....

it worked itself out....

You wouldn't want to try the 31? Having a 43 and a 77 myself, I'd guess the 31 to be the most wanted of the trio.

I have the 31 and the 77 - love them both; I Singled with the 31 recently and the 77 is upcoming...

that's why the 43 frustrates me; I didn't gel with it, even after shooting for a solid month with it in the SIC....

ooh, I think it's coming back to me... will have to look at your pictures again to freshen up my memory. Looking forward to your 77 month.

If someone puts a lens through its paces in shots and situations that make it comparable with others, it's got to be you Perhaps the little pearl on the HD 43 can change your mind in the future?
