Post Processing Challenge #377

We did not expect this, we did not guess about it, but here is a new task from me for you.

As a resident of a megalopolis, I really miss nature. It's a long way to go, and the landscape isn't particularly diverse. Forest, river or lake.
As a rule, you get to nature already in the day and in good weather. And these are not very good conditions for shooting.
As a result, there is little atmosphere in the frame and everything looks flat.
I suggest that the participants use post-processing to fix this and have fun.

Well, now... It's been a very long time since I've had a go at one of these!

Here's my humble effort... edited in Lightroom 6 as follows:

- Significant crop to the area of the photo that drew my eye, and 1:1 aspect ratio
- Rotation and vertical perspective distortion correction
- Exposure, contrast, clarity and saturation adjustments
- Color adjustments in Nik Color Efex Pro to give it an Autumnal / Fall look
- Localised exposure and clarity adjustments
- Spot healing / cloning to remove a few distracting leaves and fungus / algae marks on the rocks
- Mild vignetting
- A little sharpening

I'm still not quite sure I have it exactly as I envisioned it, but it's pretty close, I guess...

Thanks to the OP for posting. This was fun, especially after such a long break!

I gave it a rather quick go, I'm afraid... but I don't think it's bad. I'll try another one if I find the time..

Here's mine. I played with the colors, contrast and tested a G'MIC filter.

I think it's time to take stock.
Apparently, my frame is not very good and did not arouse interest. The statistics of this challenge are 2 times lower than the previous ones. However, I would like to thank everyone who took the time to participate.
I couldn't help but notice that everyone preferred a more square composition. And everyone found the main accent.
BigMackCam - i am sure that the places captured in the photo are amazing in the beauty of the autumn time.
xs400 - i really liked what you did with the light passing through the branches. I tried to do something similar myself, but I didn't succeed.
jmacias - i do not know what a G'MIC filter is. But it looks funny.
Pelto - it seems to be nothing special, but I want to consider the details in your version.
Michail_P and astonm - not bad. But in my opinion, somewhat unnaturally saturated colors.

Well, the winner, Kerrowdown.
You managed to convey the atmosphere from "The Lord of the Rings" or "The Silmarillion". That was cool.

Thank you for your kind words... it does seem that much of my woodland imagery, does seem to have a Tolkien ish feel to them.
