As mentioned in the photo thread - taking Tsuken's comment on my image from yesterday to the logical extreme, I resolved this morning to take just one photo and post it regardless of anything.

It's amazing to me how the commitment to do this, combined with a complete lack of interest on my behalf of fudging my own rule, completely changed my mindset and approach while looking for and taking the photo. It was a change that I found very attractive, one that I'll be pursuing going forward. Time will tell to what extent, probably not the single frame per day thing, but then again maybe that will be worthwhile, at least for a while.

There's a corollary: "Desperation breeds inspiration" once committed to taking a phot before the clock strikes midnight, it is amazing what ideas might act upon to capture an image.

Friday was busy from sun up to sundown, and by the time I got home, I was exhausted. I don't even remember if I took my camera out yesterday.
I volunteered at the community COVID testing site, directing traffic. It allowed me to see a lot of people, it would have made for a great photo essay with all the people coming through. If I volunteer again next week I will keep my camera handy.

My KP will be with me. Should be interesting when the battery goes foom having said that, once I have put my blue leather on my spotty, the KP may have a little friend

I had the FA 100 macro for a while but found it too big and heavy with quite slow auto focus so I sold it and went back to the M 100/4 macro and Tamron 90/2.5 macro which produce as good or better images. I've also got the D FA 50/2.8 macro and DA 35 macro limited if I want AF. The DA* 55, on the other hand, is on the list.
I missed out on an M 100mm. It was on a K1000 and sold on eBay for just over my top bid of £50. Yeah, I know the bundle is worth way more but a) I don't have the money and 2) I didn't want it that much I have my Takumar and now have a lens spanner so let the helicoid greasing begin

I’m on dramatic stage fighting course for movies with Nigel Poulton this weekend, super fun super intensive, but I’ll post images at Monday. After tomorrow I’ll be wrecked…

Consider a DA 40mm XS, it is over/under the 50mm focal length depending on whether you use it on FF or APS-C.
You can usually find a used copy at a reasonable price, it's so compact that you can always carry as an alternate lens, and it produces incredible pictures, as this thread demonstrates

I’ve been stunned by the humble little DA 50/1.8 tbh

here’s my efforts with it so far.

Oh, thanks guys. I think I've been misunderstood...
I promise you, I'm not short on 50ish millimeter lenses . It's that I've put them all away this month to use only the K30.
My comment was that I'm feeling the restriction of a single lens.
Not complaining, not unhappy. Just banter and sharing as a part of this month long group experience.

Yeah, it kicks in after a while. Its amazing how many times you see something spectacular and your lens is 100% wrong lol. I once saw a fabulous street tableau (three old men with a smallish step ladder and a mop, trying to cleen a very high street sign) and all I had was an infrared camera .......... so I took it anyway

referring back to my 2022 project: the Twelve Months of Takumars....

anybody know why some 55/2's have the focal length and aperture printed in yellow rather than white?
