How fast and how far can you run after hitting the 12 second timer ?

As for landscapes, a benefit of using the same lens no matter the setting is that you become creative, and you learn just what the lens is capable of producing no matter what the conditions are.

After a quick internet search, I'm reckoning that someone should confirm for me exactly what a B/SELFIE is before I embarrass myself...

Selfie = Selfie

Belfie = Selfie taken from behind, with the occasional emphasis on "Behind"

One interesting thing being 'stuck' with the superzoom is the discovery that its just as capable of landscapes if you think outside the box as far as landscapes go.

Still doesn't beat my 10-20 or my 35mm though.

So with the 21st arriving soonish, I need idea of how I'm going to pull off a selfie (let alone a belfie) short of dragging a mirror outside with a 100-500mm superzoom.

I did it once with a 200mm and that was rough enough as it was - this lens is far more cumbersome than that Pentax 200mm was.
Set it on multi shot, making sure it takes enough for you to get into position for a couple, so, with a lens as long as that, I would need around 40

I asked the same question a month or two ago . I'm still on the "selfie" stage for the challenge.

Selfie - picture of oneself

Belfie - picture of one’s backside

B/selfie simply to indicate option

Thanks for the clarity. I'm glad (as I'm sure you all are too) that I won't be donning cheek revealing attire and attempting to grab an alluring photo from behind.

I am surprised by the M 40mm, it is a better lens than I first thought, and I am starting to appreciate the results it delivers if I take my time.

I haven't been shooting wide open much with the K-35 f2, and I think at f2 is where the real magic of this lens resides. I will be keeping it, and try more shots wide open.

it can be a bit glowy at f2, but a bit of exposure control and just keep shooting....

So I was VERY bad the past few days with my single ins. I received my gigapan head the other day, which means I have to switch to JPG only to use the thing. Wound up with *nothing* really good for the 16th as a result. Went to work the 17th, and I managed to get a few quick snaps in before forgetting the camera at work. Again, wound up all in JPG, now RAWs to work with. Then I get the camera back in time to have to go out shopping, and the skies absolutely opened up on me, making finding good light impossible. Once again, I forgot I was in JPG mode, so wound up dealing.

Lesson learned: This superzoom is NOT a 'quick and easy' lens. It takes at least a small amount of planning to not fall into the 'garbage in, garbage out' rule.

As an aside, once I figure out how to use the damned thing, the gigapan is absolutely amazing. I'm seriously debating using it as my single in for next month if I can work up the nerve to deal with the work involved in shooting all panos for a month with it. The Single In is doing wonders teaching me the ropes of the Cosina though so... it may be worth it.
