Post processing challenge #388

This was taken at Warwick Castle where they were doing a "Wars of the Roses" display throughout the summer. Lots of action and having to shoot over the crowd's heads made for a tricky situation. Credit to these people who did this hour long display twice a day.

PP Challenge #388

I will let this run until next Saturday midday UK time (9th Oct).

That's great. They had plenty of opposition on the day, but very tricky to get good shots of the action as you are very restricted as to where you can stand. This was about the best I got with the camera held overhead. The one in red is a lady knight - very modern!

It is at Warwick Castle in central England. Even allegedly has a couple of ghosts, though can't say I have seen either of them.
Glad to see everyone is having fun with this.

My wife's maiden name is Warwick, I don't think they own any castles though!

I spent most of my time clipping and searching for the background. Then 15 minutes for color correction and Nik Collection

Thanks to everyone for having a go at this one.

Let’s have a look at what people have done with it;

LittleGidding. Wow! This is the stuff of nightmares, or did I just try shooting something illegal. Never tried that but I suspect that the result would be something like this.

Kerrowdown. Usual excellent treatment here. Like the colour enhancement. I can imagine this pair heading towards Bosworth Field on King Richard’s side.

Tuggie76. Really liked this one. Opposition indeed. I may have tried to remove the post that was in the way.

XS400. Not sure monochrome does this justice, but I suppose the court artist may have been restricted to charcoal. Good that you managed to find a little space to the right of the leading horse.

Fdooch. If this is the result of you playing too hard, play on! Great transformation and addition of drama.

Jmacias. This is pretty much what I did with my own copy, though I think it benefits from removing that post in addition to the banner. The warmth of the brass decorations on the helmet is very nice.

Michail_P Good bit of sharpening has brought out plenty of detail.

So to the results,

Clear winner I think,, Fdooch for transporting this scene to another world.
Runner up. Tuggie76 for a great addition to the original shot.

Over to you Fdooch.
