Post processing challenge #389

First of all, I want to thank stevejo for the first place in #388.

So let's start.

This year has been difficult and tragic for me. My dad died.
In order to somehow recover, I went on vacation for new impressions. True, I had to drive 5000 km behind the wheel and climb over the Arctic Circle, but it was worth it.
It's been a month since I came back, but I still haven't processed even half of the footage. That's where I'm going to ask you to help me.

DNG:IMGP3140.DNG

It would also be cool if you vote for my work in the monthly contest. But on the condition that you like it)

The picture shows the right and small arms of the Kivakkakoski Waterfall, which is located in the Paanayarvi National Park. Its height is 12 meters.
It wasn't easy to get there. An application for a visit must be submitted 8 months in advance, since very few people are allowed into the park in order to preserve the untouched nature.
The nearest settlement with the benefits of civilization is 80 km away along a forest road. There is no connection, no electricity.
Despite the color of the water, it is absolutely clean and you can safely drink it. I took a sample, and my sister, who works at a water quality control firm, confirmed this with numerous analyses.

I liked the photo, but it gave me a hard time deciding what to go with, color-wise.

I hope your travels were quite therapeutic. Like this river - finding the beauty in quite murky, yet very powerful waters.

Crikey! I pushed the sky a bit but didn't find that bolt of lightning?
@Fdooch, here's hoping 2022 will be a better year for you!

I recently installed the free versions of the Nik software that I downloaded years ago - this was a good excuse to have a play with Colour Efex.

a lovely picture, no waterfalls around here! I just had a good ole play with highlights and shadows, finally added an oil paint effect.

Inspired by others in previous challenges, I stepped outside my comfort zone and tried my first composite with a bit of play in the GIMP .....

With your permission, I will finish a little earlier. I hope everyone was able to participate. Thanks for your efforts and your time.
So.
Little Gidding - K 1 allows you to take pictures in which you can then see interesting details that were not noticed when shooting. This is your case.
stevejo - I am not a supporter of such a strong HDR
mariwalt - unfortunately I'm not as lucky with the weather as on your version
Michail_P - I was thinking about the grayscale version too. But there is no contrast.
xs400 - WOW. Overkill with epicness. This is already a photo of lightning, not a waterfall.
Grimmus - even standing next to the water was a little scary. I don't think anyone would dare to do such madness. As proof, I will attach a photo of the left sleeve of the waterfall.
Kerrowdown - great job. But how justified is a flip?
Next is the hardest part.)
iheiramo - you masked the water droplets on the filter and the color is good. But you forgot about the sky and the details on the water. But this is a good job.
tuggie76 - not completed a little
Grimmus - if not for astonm, you would have won first place. There is a lot of blue in the green.
astonm - Winner. Your version is closest to what I did. It took a long time and I used 4 programs.

I hope I didn't offend anyone with my comments.
